Heart Disease

Who to See: Stella Odensanya

We offer monitoring to patients with established heart disease, or those at high risk of heart disease, via our Heart Disease Clinic.

The clinic runs weekly on a:

  • Tuesday morning at Sir John Kirk Close Surgery
  • Wednesday morning at Manor Place.

The purpose of this clinic is to support you in managing your heart condition and to ensure that the quality of your health remains at its best.

At the clinic Stella will review risk factors, discuss lifestyle changes, review medications and arm you with the knowledge you need to manage your condition. Before your appointment you will receive an appointment to have a routine blood test – this is important in helping monitor your medical treatment and Stella will discuss these results with you when you attend the clinic.

You are at risk of heart disease if you have a history of heart attack or stroke in your family, you are overweight, you smoke, or you have diabetes or high blood pressure. We can offer you help to modify any lifestyle factors that may be contributing to the risk of a heart problems.

We also have blood pressure monitors in both surgeries. You are welcome to use these to check your blood pressure at any time. There is no need for an appointment and our reception staff are trained to help you use the machines and advised you what the readings mean.
