How to Make an Appointment

Appointments PhotoYou can book appointments up to 4 weeks in advance with the doctor of your choice. For more urgent problems you can have access to a GP or practice nurse within 48 hours.

We operate a telephone triage system for all same-day appointment requests. The telephone triage system is a streamline pathway that benefits patients by enabling them to be assessed quickly on the day by a GP.

The advantages to patients are:
  • Call can be taken in privacy of own home or work
  • Assessed quicker than if seen face to face in clinic
  • Cuts out unnecessary appointments
  • Responsive to patient need, flexibility, convenience
The doctor may be able to resolve your problem without you needing to come to the surgery. Alternatively, if the doctor does need to see you, they will arrange an appointment for you to be seen.
  • Consultations are by Appointment only.
  • Appointments are available during morning and afternoon surgeries.
  • If you are a non-English speaking patient you will need to book a double appointment.

You can make an appointment by:

  • Booking online  -  registered patients are able to book appointments in advance online.
  • On the phone - please call the Practice on 020 7708 6599 and speak to a Receptionist to book an appointment. At times of high demand, you may be placed in a queue to be answered. We endeavour to keep patients waiting for as little possible.
  • In person - please visit the Practice and speak to one of our Receptionists to book an appointment.

8am - 8pm GP Access 7 days a week for residents in North Southwark

We have worked with other local practices within our GP Federation (Quay Health Solutions CIC), to provide GP access 7 days a week at a central hub location in North Southwark.

This is not a walk-in service.

An appointment can be booked at this service by a clinician at your practice if it is right for you. For some patients, for instance those with more complex needs, it is more suitable to be seen at your own practice.  You would also need to agree to share your medical records with the hub on arrival. Ask at the practice for more information.

Accessing our Doctors is Easy

To see when your Doctor is available, or to know when a Doctor is running a specific Clinic please view our Staff Timetable for both Surgeries:

How To Speak to A Doctor or Nurse

You can  request to speak to a doctor or nurse over the telephone for advice on the same day. If you need telephone advice please give your number to the receptionist and your doctor or nurse will call you back - usually at the end of morning or afternoon surgery.

Named Accountable GP

From 1st April 2015, practices are required under the practice contract, to allocate a Named Accountable GP to all patients, including children. All patients registered with the practice have been allocated a GP (before then end of June 2015) who will be responsible for your overall care at the practice.

Please ask your doctor who your named accountable GP is. Should you express a wish for this to be changed to another GP we will do our best to accommodate your wishes.

Please be aware that this does not affect your ability to make an appointment with any of the GP's in the practice of your choosing.

Non-English Speakers

If you would like us to we are able to arrange interpreters for appointments -€“ they can attend in person or we can use a telephone interpreting service, depending on how much notice we have.

How to Cancel an Appointment

Please phone or visit the Surgery and inform the Reception staff that you wish to cancel or re-arrange an appointment.

Where possible, patients should try to give at least 24 hours notice of cancellation.

Requesting a Home Visit

If you are housebound or are medically unable to visit the Surgery, we can arrange to see you at home. Please help us by only asking for a home visit when it is truly necessary. The doctor will, when necessary and whenever possible, visit you on the same day if you call the surgery before 10.30am. Please note that the doctor is entitled to decide whether or not the consultation will take place in your home and may alternatively offer you an appointment to be seen in the surgery.
