Who to See: Dr Olufemi Osonuga
We are able to perform certain small surgical operations in the community without the need to go to hospital.
This service is based at Sir John Kirk Close Surgery but is available to patients from both practices and we have sessions on a weekly basis.
Because minor surgery is done using local anaesthetic the recovery time is usually short and you will be back to your usual activities fairly quickly (depending on your procedure).
Minor surgery appointments are made by referral from a doctor or nurse so if you have any growths or lumps that you are worried about talk to one of our clinical staff and they will be able to advise you whether you need any treatment, and if you do whether minor surgery would be the right approach for you.
A number of our doctors are also trained in joint injections which may be an effective way of relieving pain in some inflammatory conditions - again talk to a doctor or nurse if you think this may help you and they will be able to advise you.
